What you need is a setup like I have lying around! An MX-Tech/Wilkey tuned set of KDX forks, complete with triples, front wheel, axle, spacer, even the ODO!

But, they aren't for sale.

Point is, I know they work, they have been maintained properly, the suspension part of 'em is perfect. Find a set like THAT and you would be far ahead of messing with stripped, goobered base valves/cartridges.

nothing is wrong with them as i stated, they just need the tool. It parts dealer thought it was cross threaded not the mechanic he says he just has to see if he can get the tool. They should only charge me $10 tops

Again...if there wasn't some sort of problem the base valve would not be 'stuck' 1/2 way out.

im sorry for getting you upset, im really not sure what im doing, i dont think anything is wrong because thats what the guy at the shop told me. Maybe he is wrong but i doubt it.

Well Ryan, if they do not get/have the tool, make one. This one is easier than the fork oil tool. It will cost you peanuts and best of all give you the satisfaction of a job done properly and a little more experience to put under your belt.

Only easy if you can actually find a metric nut in that size!
I looked all over town and could not find one and ended up making one from a SAE nut that was perty close but did not worky, nut was too soft

So I ordered one from FRP. So I have the "tool" if anyone ever needs to borrow it. Just pay fer shipping!

This nut is for 5/8-11 thread, so I think I drilled it out to 5/8.

What freakin' tool are you talking about? The cartridge holding tool, the valve tool or the rod tool?

The cartridge holding tool will have to be ordered unless you can make one.... they are everywhere. The valve tool is a 14mm allen head...and the rod tool.... I have one for sale if you need one....

its the cartridge tool, i think, its the one with i think like the 24 or 27 mm nut. I think you have instructions on this site. I tried to order it from Ronayers but they said it was discontinued

ya that kinda looks like it this is the kawasaki part number. 57001-1245, if this isnt the kawaski number it is the Ronayers.com's number. I think it was $12.99
