I tried searching but couldn't find anything on this. This is my first time messing with reeds, so please be nice. I just purchased some Boyesen 607 reeds and need to know if this is how they should look. They don't match the ports on the reed block, and I'm not sure if they're intentionally designed like this, or what. Just seems weird to me.
Yes, that's normal. The 607 has a pretty wide range of reed cages that it fits, so I'm sure there are a few variances. As long as it seals off on the compression/exhaust stroke is really all that matters.
For anyone that cares and doesn't already know, look at the screw heads. Do you see the dimple at the top? That means JIS screw, so try to buy and use a JIS compliant screwdrier.
