I am wanting to find a rear wheel for my 2000 KDX220 so I can put a paddle tire on it to have for the sand dune trips. It apprears to be nearly impossible to find a KDX rear wheel but I have heard certain year KX 125/250 and KX500 rear wheels also work. From what searches I have read 1990-1996 KX125/250/500 but also read that 97-02 KX125/250 work? I would also assume the KX500 didn't change so would a 1990-2004 rear wheel be the same on the KX500?
I Never would have thought it would be so hard to find a rear wheel. They also seem to be worth their weight in gold. Looks like $150-$200 is normal.
I have a wheel compatibility post somewhere on here....
If the wheel, actually it's the hub, fits an E series, it fits an H. On some KX hubs, you MUST change the wheel bearings to fit them properly, as some KX hubs have a larger axle. Meh, you should be changing the bearings anyway..

On, found it.....
All these hubs fit, the rims on KDXs are 18" and on KXs 19"..if that matters to you;
90-94 KDX (as tested by me), 91 on KDX 250s, a few older KX 125/250/500 90-96, KLX 650 93-96 and klx250/300 91-07.

1990 - 2002 KX125 / KX250, 1990 - 2004 KX500 will fit the same, but I only know it will work on the 1989 - 1994 USA KDX200 models.
The money a new rear wheel cost is enough to buy another running KDX. Its crazy a wheel cost that much and even used ones of Ebay with missing spokes and cracked/bent rims still want a lot for them. I figure around $150 looks like a fair price for a good condition rear wheel.
Thanks for the info. I take it the KX went to a larger axle in 97? If they just need KDX bearings/seals that's not a big deal. I am just wanting a spare rear wheel to put a paddle tire on for the sand dunes.
I think they went to a 3 bearing setup in 97...not sure. The wheels posted fit, even some zuke wheels will fit with a bearing swap, but proceed at your own risk if its not listed.
