Nice job. Just an observation, you might want to route your front brake hose inside the fork leg. You stand a pretty good chance of having it ripped off if you catch it on a branch or something.
Two quick questions:
1. How did you get the tank looking so good?
2. Where did you get that slick looking chain guard on the swing arm? It looks like it is made from aluminum as opposed to the stock plastic one.
Very nice work, looks sweet! Those plastics do look super nice. Did you use 3M compounds specifically for plastic once you got to that point? Or just car buffing compound? And did you paint or powdercoat to black all that stuff out?
I used 3m automotive compounds, nothing specifically for plastics. All the black is powdercoat with the exception of the crankcase. I didn't want to tear the cases apart to coat until I actually need to.
Very nice job.my step son is going to fix his 89 up and very happy see that the plastic can be restored.We just picked up a clean used clutch basket to replace his trashed one.Also have my daughter redoing her 96 to get ready for spring.Love that seat cover.
