When I was a kid I had a picture of this bike, so now having a chance, I'll Restore one. I'm into Harley's, trail bikes are a whole different story. As most of you know that these years of the '87 some parts are hard to find, especially trying to make it look original. The Air Box is one and then the Kickstand. Enjoy some pictures.
Thanks, I had the frame, swing arm, engine brackets, pegs, upper rear shock link, rear pedal and parts blasted and powder coated. Exhaust was sand blasted and painted high heat paint.
I want the bike to be new again, show it off at the up coming bike show in the restored vintage section and plus it's for sale.
That's why it's great to have forums like this, to ask questions, ask around for tips on finding parts. Still hoping to find the Air Box, kickstand and brake rod.
I have my fingers crossed for you haha! I have been searching high and low for parts to my IT490 and came across them on another forum unfortunately they didn't have what I needed but if there site is accurate they have a lot of bikes!
1990 KDX200FMF Fatty, Answer VFC silencer, VForce 3 Cage, Wiseco Piston, KX125-J series KYB USD fork conversion, Race tech goldvalves, J series front brake assembly, air-box snorkel removed, Acerbis Headlight, KX450F Front fender, Pro Taper RM bend bars, ASV front Brake lever, MSR Clutch perch and lever, RB Head mod, 36mm PWK carb, Trail Tech Kickstand.
No luck with bike boneyard, they sold the air box, I guess they didn't update their website yet.
Back to trying to find an air box, please let the word out. Still searching.
I found the swing arm sliders from DC Pladtics, upper and lower roller chain guards on eBay, the chain guide below the swing arm was from eBay. The large plastic guard I also found on eBay, they over time turned yellow, so I sanded and painted grey, same as the mud guard infront of the rear tire for the Unitrack.
