ASV Brake lever conversion

Post by craftman245 »

Hey guys, was looking at replacing my stock front brake lever with one from ASV. Only problem is they only produce one for 2000 to 2006. Anyone ever put one of these levers on a KDX from 1990 to 1994? Don't exactly want to change master cylinder to newer model....part numbers are different but I can't imagine Kawasaki would change too much.

Thanks!

I've noticed that the later model brake levers aren't a good fit. For one, the plunger and actuator aren't dead center on each other. Second, the material on the lever that stops the lever from extending too far is much smaller, allowing the lever to extend out 90 degrees while your hand isn't gripping it.

I haven't tried the lever you're looking at, but maybe a master upgrade would be your best bet for finding a more modern lever.
