E series crank shaft
Anyone have a decent one around? I've been informed by Ron B that the one I had is not usable or repairable. :/

Re: E series crank shaft
Bummer. What year is your bike? They changed the flywheel mount at some point during the E series. Can't recall what year, but the earlier uses a bolt that threads into the flywheel side, the later uses a nut and the crank half on the flywheel side is threaded on the outside. Probably won't matter as long as you get the right bolt/nut to go with.

Re: E series crank shaft
Mine is a 92.
I've seen that listing a few times now. The end got banged up/distorted, and the surfaces that ride under the seals are pretty corroded too.
There's a 96 on ebay that looks good. From what I've seen it looks like the same crank is on the H series. Anyone able to confirm or deny?

I quoted your post. It shows up in your post, not as a signature. See where mine says "THANK YOU, JulienD, for your hard work on the site!"? That is some info I put in the signature field on my profile. That is why I asked.Friedom wrote:...I'm not quite sure I understand your question. Ironically, I don't see that signature on your posts. So I think yours is set up through the website, but mine is setup through Tapatalk (The app that I use for forums).Jason wrote:I quoted your post. It shows up in your post, not as a signature. Re: E series crank shaft
So any one know if the crank is the same for late E and H series? Numbers were the same on rmatv, but it didn't seem all that precise.

I should be able to help you out. I cant seem to send or received PM's, but my e-mail is damage.inc@mchsi.com, if the site will display it...Friedom wrote:Bump: anyone have a crank - or even a bottom end from an E series for sale?
I have a "90 engine bottom, but it needs to be disassembled. I can move it up on my schedule if you are still looking.

Re: E series crank shaft
Thanks. I was able to source a good looking 89 crank on ebay. Had it sent directly to RB and he affirmed it looked good and rebuilt it.
It's now sitting on the shelf with all the rest of the disassembled engine.
I'm starting to get excited about this bike again! Think I'll go read the engine assembly section again..
