I bought a 1987 kdx200 that was blown up. Figured being a 2 stroke it wouldn't be hard to rebuild. After getting the cylender off ect the wall is gouged more then 2mm. The wall does not have a sleeve and it seems the 1989 and up they do and you can buy a sleeve. Would it be possible to buy a 1989 sleeve and bore the cylender out to fit it. My concern was the porting lining up. Also if I can't go that route, were can I find a sleeve that will work. I have a 1988 so they claim sleeved cylender found on eBay but my concern was how does it have a sleeve if it's a 1988. So either he has the year wrong or it's possible to sleeve my 1987. I can buy the cyclender off eBay in the next 48 hours as per my offer at 150$ if I accept. The eBay one tho says the sleeved 1988 is bored 1mm over to 67mm and has scratched so it may need to go 67.5 or 69mm which is the max.
So my main question is how can I sleeve my 1987 cylender and will the 1989 sleeve work from LA sleeves if I bore to fit
Thanks for your reading. I'm new to kdx's

Seems I can send it off and have it welded and plated. Is this a good option?

Power Seal does replating as well. I've had Millenium and Power Seal do my cylinders and have been happy with both.

+1 on repair and replate and Millenium. Just sent my cylinder to them!

Re: 1987 kdx200 cylender sleeving?
Thanks. Looked them up. Going to send them my top end. Having trouble getting the "power valves" out. I'm not sure what they are but after reading that's what I came up with. Looks like the rod should move back and forth and turn two valves on a gear to give it more air or something.
