Fmf fatty...
Hey all! I'm Chris from the UK! Getting parts over here is a nightmare!!!
Just wondering if anyone knows of anyone with an fmf fatty for a 1990 kdx 200 for sale? And would be willing to ship over here? I wouldn't mind a fitting end can as well... I'm happy to pay obviously, ebay seems a bit pricey for this time of year, so I just thought I'd put some feelers out!
Thanks.
Chris.

Yeah cheers for that buddy, I've already seen those systems, hence why I was just trying to see if anyone knows of anyone selling a used/damaged one. They're quite expensive and I have to pay import charges on top on that.
Don't ask you don't get. Sorry if I offended anyone though!

Fmf fatty...
Parts for the E series kdx are few & far between here in the UK , you can buy plastics from MD racing ( UFO ) but engine parts & aftermarket goodies are scarce ....I bit the bullet & purchased a Pro Circuit platinum pipe state side ..I think I paid an extra £50 for customs ...pipe still set me back over £200 plus

Re: Fmf fatty...
Yeah its looking like I may have to do the same!
There is a thread here that explains how to strip the baffles out of the standard exhaust, I was debating that...
Is anyone able to explain how you would re jet to suit the system? Cheers.

Fmf fatty...
If you thoroughly de-coke the front pipe with a caustic soda mix or similar ...& just replace the rear silencer instead, with a FMF or similar then you may get a slight gain in performance....If you intend on keeping the KDX then its worth investing in a set of new valves as the OE ones must be showing signs of wear & tear by now?....bearings, seals gaskets etc are still available from Kawasaki..

Jetting is jetting, regardless of what change you make the process will be the same. Check our jets and needles section for loads of info there, including a step by step jetting guide. Removing the liner from the stock e series pipe is a real battle, but it does make a noticeable difference. So much so that an aftermarket pipe is not really necessary if you can do a good job hacking the stocker.

Thanks guys, I work with some pretty decent welders so I may just go down that route.
Thanks for the advice!
Chris.

I hacked the stock pipe on my 89, and then later went to aftermarket because I didn't like my beat up stock pipe. There was a bigger difference from stock to gutted than gutted to aftermarket, but I do love my DG pipe. Tough as nails and a good performer, too.

Re: Fmf fatty...
Hey guys, quick update!
Found a place in the UK selling steel KIPs valves £105 posted... YOINK! Obviously had a set of those!
Just waiting for those to come, so have decided to spend the winter saving some cash and doing some minor works on the KDX, such as..
Forking out for the fatty, I think it has to be done.
Carbon reads
Performance CDI
Re Jetting
Re packing the muffler
Fixing some loose wiring!
Fitting my new original decals from the states.
When I figure out how to post pictures I will share some with you!
Cheers lads.
