LOL the chest protector is the bit o' kit I have.Found a deal on the local for sale site,brand new.The seller was a importer that went out of business.The rest of it is an Answer product similar to your links,blue with black and white.Pants,jersey and gloves.Helmet is a blue with black and white HJC,they're street helmets just don't fit my noggin but the dirt one did.Was a real good price to and I'd already picked that out all by myself.Boots are some Alpine Star knock offs from a company started by one of it's founders.Man those things are HEAVY compared street boots.Feel like Frankenstein's monster clumping around in them.
In bike news,I got an offer of a good used crank that would be considerably less than rebuilding mine would be.I can see advantages to doing both so now I'm back on the damned fence.GRRRRRRR.....

So I was taking out the front wheel bearings and I noticed the cracks on the front rim to

.I guess I shouldn't have been surprised but I kind of was.Hope Ken has the front to match

I finally decided that rebuilding my crank is the way to go,when I first seen it I was sure I needed a new one so I've been having trouble wrapping my mind around the idea that I can save this one.

Went to Kenco after work,the have a front wheel off a 86 KX125.It's in looks to be in good shape and I'm getting it at a reasonable price.Comes with a holey disc so I can have my choice.

those are nice chest protectors
i went with a thor one, but i cant remember the name right now
its a clear plastic one (they didnt make them in green/purple to match the bike)
and it also has the shoulder pads

think i paid around 70 dollars for it, not sure since it was part of a bigger order ;)

Blasted the frame with ground glass then primered it.Not used to this farm implement stuff,you apply appliance "epoxy" straight to bare metal.Colour will have to wait till the next nice day here on the wet coast.The master cylinders top had badly rusted in screws.Got 1 out but broke the top trying to remove the second one.

Put my carb guts somplace safe,so safe I can't find them

Funny the things lighting and cameras will do to colours:

Painted the frame today after work,but when I retrieved this pic out of the camera I had a WTH moment,WAY to light.

Fortunately this is a much closer to the real colour.Will now let it cure for at least a week then do a recoat.I'm liking it

Did a poll over at GSR,starting to think it might not be a good idea to paint the spoke on a dirt bike.Something's telling me they might flex to much for it to stick.Just one of those things that got in my head and needed to be thought out.
Gee AA I wonder where I got the inspiration? Yours and SS109 http://kdxrider.net/forums/viewtopic.php?f=103&t=12466 might have had something to do with it

they came out with these new spoke covers. they are like $20 only thing is you need to take the spokes out to do them :/
and if you are worried about the paint coming off you have 2 choices
powder coat should stick no problem
or plastidip should stick nice and if not you can always just peel it off

The bolt cutters made short work of the seized spoke problem.Bought myself a set.Next nice day I can clean up the hubs

Kind of decided the whole coloured spoke idea was a bit silly HB.

We got a few extra $$ so I got the rear rim and the rear wheel bearings.Now I REALLY need a nice day to blast the gunge off the hubs.

Baking soda works great for cleaning hubs.

Washing soda is even better,more gritty than baking soda.But I got a bag of ground walnut shells for the AU parts.Come to think of it haven't we done this?
