My sons 86 XR 80R needs forkseals. They look similar to the C model KDX design. Have any of you guys had this type fork apart?
This is the first time in the 15 years that we have owned the 80 that ANYTHING has gone wrong with it. Not a bad record

I have never had any apart, but from the parts diagram, it looks pretty similar to the C model forks. Don't forget to remove the damper rod before separating the tubes. Check the damper rod piston band(s) while you are at it.
I thought Trev was going to tell me to, "Buy a manual".

I also ordered a new set of steering stem bearings and will install them while the front end is apart.
