Hi from the UK,
I have a 97 KDX220 sr (road legel), thanks to all on this site for explaining what the differences are some interesting reading.
So my problem is the cdi box (no spark) part number 21119-1440 has anyone found a replacment for the SR cdi? I can find a few in the UK for the R but these are AC-cdi and from what I’ve read and tested on my bike I need a DC-cdi is this correct?
Bike has no battery just kick it and the lights are on all the time.
Any help would be appreciated

We never got the SR in the states, so not a lot of help from this side of the pond I'm afraid. Member Jaguar on here has done some CDI stuff down in S. America, not sure if it applies to SR's or not.

Russ you might check with Impex or Webike out of Japan, I have dealt with Webike several times on a few NLA parts here in North America, prices are fair and shipping reasonable..

Looks like the CDI might be manufactured by Mitsubishi, do you have some part or manufacturing codes on the side of it, might be able to cross these over to another bike ??

I recall there use to be a company that repaired them, sorry can't find the site...

There is a used one on e bay out of Russia... I don't have any experience buying from there?

I think this is Jaguar as mentioned by bufftester, he might be able to help as he use to race the SR

Thanks JimmyB , IMPEX JAPAN with postage to the UK is about £206. Found this company Carmo Electronics who can repair it but after the postage it about £20 less than a new one from Japan. Will order one from Japan and hopfully get my spark back.
