89 kdx 200sr

im currantly building a 91 kdx 200E full restoration project and while thats being built (slowly) ive imported a 89 kdx 200sr to ride in the mean time NOW not doing research before hand i thought they were both the same bike 
so the things ive done to the SR so far is change the carb to the one from my 91 kdx200 along with the airbox ive also removed the oil res and the gear from the oil pump while i had the outer clutch case off ( water pump seal went 
) i will just pre mix its a safer bet just incase 
next on the list is an exhaust does anyone know where i can buy a different CDI unit??? or will one from a kx fit?? and do i keep the air guild inside the reed valve or remove it ?? any advice in making this bike a bit more lively would be geat
