Well, finally got out on the trails today after the new carb and new front end. XR400R forks and wheel. So to start with, I have the fmf woods pipe with the power core can. Boyesens rad valve Reed intake. The difference is very noticeable! The Power band hits stronger in mid to upper rpms. Throttle response is great. Just a small slight bogg say in 2nd gear lugging. Just a little fine tuning in that area. 155 main, 42 pilot, #7 slide, cek Needle on 3rd clip. I am very happy with carb and xr400r front end. I'm thinking I need to lean out one clip position on the needle. What does the experts think? I'm at 100feet above sea level. Today was 70 degrees F.

That's awesome to hear about your success with everything. I don't run that set up but I would think that's a bit too lean if you dropped the needle/raised the clip? Maybe that slight bog when lugging could be tuned out with the air screw? Glad to hear about the forks, did you put Race Tech valving in them?

Hey Chuck78, the xr400r forks are stock and feel great. I am 175lbs, I ride trails here on the east coast. I'm not a slow rider but I'm not a fast rider either. The xr400r forks just soak up everything better than the stock kdx forks.
