What is this for?
I’ve asked at my local dealership and they are stumped. Thought someone here might know. What is the small extension on the right side of the frame for?

I have used it to pick my kdx up and move it out of a rut or when hung up on the side of a hill. I view it as sort of a strap handle that is on the frame.
Easier to grab that area and not accidentally grab the side plastics where the frame almost runs parallel to the plastic.

The use of that "hook" has been debated for years. I look at it as a grab handle like treelimb mentioned. Maybe Jeff Fredette knows?

Jig mount for assembly makes the most sense. Ice cream maker is a close second.

It's a pipe guard. Without it that whole section of exhaust is exposed in a tip over.
I use it as a handle to get the bike on a stand.

It makes great handle!
I had not thought of using it before seeing this thread.
went to grab it and missed at last race. All jacked up on adrenaline and ripped a chunk off front of my side plate.
