Re: About Time! Lower Linkage
eBay was fast! Not exactly primo. But better than my old one + came with the susp arm bolt I butchered so I can return the new one I paid $23. So came out ok I think.
Now need to get it out back together.

Re: About Time! Lower Linkage
I'm pretty sure you did but did you clean and repack all the bearing while you had it off?

Re: About Time! Lower Linkage
Man! I knew I was forgetting something.
The bearings and sleeves are new (from all balls kit). so far each needle has thin layer of grease on it. So some final grease packing and seals should get it going. I only found 1 bearing that I thought was worthy of re-packing (link end on the swing arm looks good) plus the bushing on top of shock seemed fine. All the rest were shot or suspect, so put in the new ones everywhere else.

Re: About Time! Lower Linkage
My rule for suspension/linkage bearings is if it's not a greasy mess putting it back together then it's not enough grease! Looking at your pic, those things are practically dry IMO. Lube them well and often if you don't want to end up in the same situation again.

Re: About Time! Lower Linkage
Thanks SS. That was after I cleaned them up & before “repacking” if you can call it that for needles. They were converted to beautiful gooey mess using my best finger paint skills, before reinstalling the swing arm.
