OEM 220 rear fender?

Post by JimmyB »

Just curious, is the OEM Kawasaki rear fender discontinued now for this series, Dealers here in Canada say so, Maier and UFO the only options now?

Thanks, James..

You might get lucky and find a NOS one on eBay for a pretty penny, but most likely so.

What year?
If you lend someone $20, and never see that person again, it was probably worth it.

Thank you, sorry it is a 02, unfortunately due to shipping restrictions it seems they are not allowed to ship OEM parts to Canada. :(

If you can't find one maybe a fellow forum member can reship it for you. I would be happy to do so. However, I'm sure shipping costs would be higher from my location than someone up in the Northern US.

Thank you for the kind offer, I do have a shipping box south of the border and can try to order from RMATV when the borders reopen, non essential travel is not allowed now.

I am really puzzled why Kawasaki does not reintroduce the KDX, the used ones sell like hot cakes here, a listing does not last more then 2-3 days this time of year, every time I am out I am asked if wanting to sell. Could do the same as when they brought out the E series, put a 200 or 250 cc enduro motor in a last gen KX frame, enduro suspension, larger fuel tank, lighting coil, a catalytic convertor to please emissions, they use them on small 2-strokes, maybe even oil injection, use the old SR bottom end, could always delete it. The Euro' s can make them and they sell very well, why can't a big company like Kawasaki use what they have and put one out, even if last gen tech, look at the GPX TSE250, a old school 223cc Yamaha motor( they have the license to build it) or their other models, Chinese yes but a model for the average trail rider.

James.

Kawi apparently has deaf ears re two strokes. I agree, it seems to me they have all the design and engineering already done to make a factory hybrid. Instead they come out with that obese KLX 300. I was hoping when Yamaha brought out the YZX 250 and 125 if might spur Big Green into action. Maybe not.

That "new" KLX300 really disappointed me. If they had developed it in to a fairly competitive machine I would have probably got one. I think 300cc is about perfect for a good 4T bike but Kawi really dropped the ball by releasing that pig. Watch, it will eventually be discontinued, just like the other models before it, because all of them are just blah bikes.

I agree on the KLX300,A friend had one 16 years ago and the new one is almost the same bike plus electric start, fuel injection and extra weight, but minus the lights, nothing new..
