KDX-EXP clutch

Post by targetman »

Anyone running one of these clutches? https://haroldbawlzangya.com/project-kdx-rekluse-exp/

I bought one from a member here and can't get it to work. As in anti-stall. Harold's video and some of his photos show the EXP ring in different places in the clutch pack. Also the clutch I received was missing the washer that goes between the hub and basket. Harold makes mention of this gasket and his experimentation to find the correct size washer. I installed the clutch using the factory washer. I'm thinking this may be why the clutch is not operating as an auto clutch. I don't know if I need a bigger or smaller washer. Thickness or outer diameter?

Just spoke with the PO. I forgot to tighten my clutch up. I will do that and report back. Still would like to get an idea of the washer size.

I installed one of his clutches a while back and used all stock parts (with the modified YZ125 outer basket) but I did have to have a little extra machined off the back side of the inner clutch hub. Without the extra machining, the installed clutch was too tall and causing problems.

You can see my solution at the end of the linked posting...

This final pic is my completed clutch set up after the extra machining work and utilizing stock parts such as washers, springs, etc.
