I took out this washer because I like the way the clutch feels without it.

Re: I'm just gonna leave this here
I used acidic paint stripper on the cylinder. I wonder why kawasaki decided to paint just the cylinder and not the rest of the motor. I tried using engine degreaser and power washer on the motor, it had a big countershaft leak, but it would just smear the grease everywhere. I used a set of mini wire wheels for a dremel and it worked great because it would just fling the smut off into space.
Does anyone know what compression ratio RB head mod is? Or the thickness of the head?

Re: I'm just gonna leave this here
Sadly, I don't know what RB specs his head mod at. I don't think he raises the compression much but mainly corrects the squish. If you look at a head he has modified you will notice that the complete chamber has been modified as well and I believe this is to keep compression not much over stock since it will run on premium pump gas. Honestly, it shouldn't be too hard to figure out if someone with an RB head could CC the head and measure the angle and width of the squish area. However, if Ron is still doing the mod, I don't think it would be right to disseminate that information.

Re: I'm just gonna leave this here
My RB head mod took it from 142psi to 169psi compression if I remember correctly. Could be a pound or 2 off on those numbers but it was right about there. It went up 27psi. 02 220 and had a pretty fresh (10 hours) top end at the time.

Re: I'm just gonna leave this here
Here’s an update for those who are interested. The build has been paused, since I moved across the country to help and live with my grandfather. I will return to completing the bike hopefully by springtime next year, and maybe with more money to make it a better build. I also want to do a long distance trip on my kdx and explore the western half of the USA, yeah its a longshot, but I think it is possible and it is my goal. The main issue is gas, anyone have any good ideas for carrying extra gas?

Sorry to hear that you had to move.
Good luck on the rebuild. Hang in there.
