Yeah it's 1.5 miles to the Rockhouse System, and you can ride your bike to it, and it's 21-30 miles to three other systems. Check out the "Printer Friendly Directions" on the right hand side of this page: http://www.twinhollowcampground.com/TH_ ... Rules.html

Twin Hollow is in Gilbert right ON the trail system.
You can camp or rent a cabin, just make sure your vehicle has the transmission to climb for quite a long ways.
It's at the peak of a mountain and it is pretty nice.
It's located right at the trail head in Gilbert.

Rod, I'm not necessarily heading this up but you can reach me at semaj.brown@yahoo.com. In fact, anyone can shoot me an email and I'll get a "group" email list going. As we make our preparations I'll keep everyone in the loop.

Tom, are you familiar with those Twin Hollow cabins? How would you compare them to where we stayed two years ago?

The worst part of this is going to be waiting for . . . 15 weeks! AARRRGGHH!!! The bright side - plenty of time to get into "riding" shape and get those bikes in top-notch shape.

At this point I believe our count is 3 definates (me, Tom Moody, and Rick), another 3 most likely, another 3-5 good chance . . . I bought an mx gear bag off of a local fellow and he's a possibility. We may have quite a gang.

When we get all of the commitments in I'll put together a "package" describing where, when, how, and think through costs.

Not sayin' I will be able to make it or not but it might be a good idea to post the elevations of the areas you will be riding. I know my jetting was less than ideal when we went last year.

Oh come on Vince! What if we found you a place to stay in the Cincinnati area on the way? It would break the trip up. You could ride in Wednesday evening and we could all leave Thursday late morning. Even better, maybe carpool with Fuzzy.

And I got lotsa jets, 35 through 48 pilots, and from 140 all the way into the 160s. I can post the elevations - but they will be elevation ranges (which should excite those who haven't been here before, fairly big changes as you make your way into the mountains).

I have all the jets too... I would want to cut it in the middle somewhere to get a decent range out of one set of jets. I have no problem messin with the air screw.

I was jetted for 600 feet ASL when I went and I could tell.

Vince if you jet for 1300' that would be and average.
I think I have seen 2100'-2200' max.
I drop down 1 size on the main and pilot when I go
as I am normally jetted at 700'.

Jim, twin Hollow is very nice, clean new cabins
and clean showers. It's more expensive than we paid before and
they will only allow 6 per cabin. I think it's about 210 bucks a night.

The camping is about 25 bucks a night with electric and water however
they don't want you washing your bike.

I may go early myself, possibly on the 20th.

Mikee and I are talking about going to Brushy Ridge this year, Fuzz. Maybe we should hook up?

Sounds like this is the plan that's developing . . .

everyone starts arriving on Thursday the 20th and there's likely a little riding Thursday sometime, morning, afternoon, or evening.

Friday ride all day. Saturday ride all day.

So would Sunday be "break camp" day? Some riding, possibly, Sunday morning, but everyone heads home sometime Sunday? OR . . . Sunday could be a full day of riding as well and everyone splits on Monday . . .

it's a matter of how many evenings for which we need to make reservations. Either Thursday night through Saturday night or Thursday night through Sunday night. If it makes a difference, we wouldn't have to pack up and out of our cabin (or camping spot) until the afternoon of the day we leave.

What do you all think? I can call a few places and see what's available.

My vote is leave after work Thursday or early Friday morning, and come home Monday. That would give us 3 days of riding. Next voter please!

Come home Monday is cool . . . but I'm leaving Thursday at lunch. So that's 3.5 days of riding

Awesome Varmint! I think us Cincinnati area boys are going to head out at lunch time Thursday, so we should be there around 5 or 6. Probably about the same time as you! Come on ya'll, this is shaping up to be a great trip! Any other takers? :supz:
