New to the KDX Group

Post by mcdonasha »

Hey from Richfield, Wisconsin. I recently came into a 1989 KDX200 and joined the group to get information on this bike. I've found that obtaining parts can be a bit challenging and I'm in dire need of a rear wheel. Does anyone have a list of bikes that would have a compatible rear wheel with my 89? The rear hub is a 1213. Any information would be greatly appreciated!

1989 - 1994 KDX200 wheels will work.

If you need just a hub, then:

1989 - 1994 KDX200
1990 - 2002 KX125 / KX250
1990 - 2004 KX500

KX's will have a 19" rear rim and spokes laced to the same hub.

41034-1213 is the part number for a KDX125. I don't know if the 1989 rear hub has 1213 on it.

1989 is 41034-1184. I don't knw what four digits are on the hub, but it seems that sometimes it is the last four digits of the part number.

Ask around to see what other people's hubs have on them.

Man, thank you for the information! I really appreciate it.

The wheel that came on the bike was set up for ice racing and has the 1213 hub. I would have to cut off the ice tires to use the current wheel and I'd rather not do that.

I'll poke around for the wheels you mentioned above. Again, thanks a ton!

Just by the numbers, 1989 is 1989 only, but I don't know how it would be any different.

I looked on eBay to find a hub with the rear numbers cast in, but no hub I looked at had pictures. :?

I just wanted to thank you again for the list of crossover wheels and hubs. I went through weeks of stress trying to find the right fit to no avail. With your advice I was able to locate and order a wheel right away and am now enjoying a fully functional bike.
