Looks to be in pretty decent shape, already has the pipe (minus the obligatory dent) and silencer, bar ends. Heck it even has the OEM kickstand, headlight and tool bag! Will definitely be a step up from the TTR, but you'll still be able to tractor around like the TTR (though after a bit you won't want to  ). Looks to be a good upgrade.

The black stuff on the frame sides looks odd, but otherwise it looks very good.

Awesome, do all KDX’s have headlights? Any light upgrades out there?

Yea I was looking at that too. I’m gonna guess it’s covering up where paint was rubbed off the frame? I’ll definitely take a look at that this weekend.

I think all the USA full-sized KDX's came with a headlight.

Baja Designs makes an LED headlight. One can also rewind the lighting coil for higher output. Then a brighter light (55 watt for example) can be ran. Stock output is around 30 watts to the headlight and 10 to the taillight.

Looks like grip tape. A cheaper alternative to frame guards to keep the paint from wearing off

I am pretty sure my headlight is the $21 universal on amazon. The light is very bright. As good as my street bike. It runs from the original light power line. With Tusk switch for Hi/Lo/Off.

It’s held on w/ rubber straps. And I use these really fancy black zip tie alignment adjusters. I think if you only use it for off road a guy could wire the hi & lo together for brighter output.
Now I just need to find a reliable source for grip tape!

Skateboard grip tape is like 8 bucks online. Cut it to the size you need. Motocrossers also use it to help grip their bikes I think. You can get it in any color too I think. Maybe even custom to match your frame

Bought the bike! Rode it for a couple hours and it seems to be an awesome machine. Taking it back out next weekend for even more fun. Immediately I realized just how much better it is then the ttr. Once I got the hang of the clutch and throttle I was having blast. Still have a lot of learning to do with it but loving it so far.

Edit: don’t know why my pics are stretching all weird.

Oh heck yeah! Congratulations!

If I may suggest strongly, please spend the money to get real riding boots. Your ankles and feet are worth the money.

Thanks! The boots on my tailgate are what I changed out of!! I have O’neill riding boots. I have all the proper gear minus chest or shoulder pads which I’m strongly considering. I also wear a neck brace.

Congrats! Great choice on the KDX. Hope you have a great time.
I recently inherited my uncles old O’Neal mx boots and a 661 armor shirt.
They are both really nice.
Whenever you gear up it fells like you have to ride hard or go fight aliens with one of the Spartan Companies

Personally I’m a big fan of shoulder protection. I know a lot of racers who have had shoulder AC separations, myself included.

Common/must do upgrades for an 01 KDX 200? Bike has EBC brake pads, wiseco piston, boyeson reeds and fmf full exhaust already. Is there a hydraulic clutch kit for these? Better/bigger foot pegs?
