Hi to the forum
Hello
I'm Matt, BC Canada.
Just started riding the other year. I'm 46 so I guess I start slow
Anyway, I did my due diligence and since I love 80 & 90s vehicles it was easy to spot that the KDX200 is what I need. Purchased one 1,5 years ago a bit to expensive and realize that these bikes won't lose value, they will increase. So good purchase, been learning for a year on this 1995 KDX that I'm right now slowly lightly renovate to get it in good condition for the season.
This forum seem perfect to learn from. Right now I wonder how I post first time, maybe I'm limited as new user?
Or can I post here?
I want to disassemble the exhaust. Removed it, unscrew 5 screws (pink) but can't separate parts. I think its original. Seem to be a few pop rivest (yellow) but not sure. I will try attach pics. Thanks guys n gals

Re: Hi to the forum
It's an aftermarket silencer (to go along with the aftermarket pipe in the background) so is not original OEM. The 2 (some have 3) screws where the pipe goes into the silencer are all you need to remove, leave the rivets in. If the baffle doesn't pull out easily try lightly tapping the pipe back and forth to work it out. This video is a good tutorial.

That baby has been neglected for quite some time. Glad you got it open to freshen it up.

Re: Hi to the forum
Welcome! Wow, that needs some new repack. Looks like a "universal fit" FMF exhaust. Might want to upgrade regardless of the repacking. Either way, can't beat a KDX.

Re: Hi to the forum
I think it is not universal, just a real old style cannister.
