Hi Everyone
Hi Everyone,
New to the forum, I recently purchased a pretty rough 88 KDX 200. I owned a C series in my early 20's and liked it so much I had to have another. Hope to learn a lot here.

Welcome. You can try cropping your photos to make them fit, that’s what I do. Congrats on the 88, the most desirable of the air cooled bikes. The first year with the Keihin.

HECK YEAH! That looks good. I like the Oakley Factory Pilot sticker.
You might want to shorten the fuel tank vent hose and tuck it into the hollow steering stem.

Re: Hi Everyone
Ah yes, it came with a pretty cool looking 100% sticker on the fork under the headlight plastic too. The plan was to run it through the steering stem, but I got an awesome deal on this blue silicon tubing and the OD is just a frog hair too big to fit through.

Re: Hi Everyone
Thanks guys, I thought the white was rather eye-catching myself. I knew they were uncommon, and a new plastic search has yielded nothing. I thought about emailing DC plastics and asking if they would do a run of white for me. I've been talking with a guy who owns a local custom decal shop, thinking about having some blue side panel decals made to match. Do you guys know if my air-cooled brothers have white decals available for their green plastics? If not, I may have a source for them before too long here.

You can buy blue from Dirt Digits or Factory Effex, etc.

Re: Hi Everyone
Cool, thank you. I suppose it wouldn't be too hard to trim to fit. If the price is reasonable after he does mine it may be nice to have pre-cut and trimmed decals though. I believe he laser cuts his. He does a lot of vintage snowmobile decals for restoration.

Re: Hi Everyone
See the plastic rub block for the brake line on the swing arm? Was that new in 88? I always wondered why they’d just let the brake line grind away on the swing arm like that. The 87 didn’t have it in the magazines I’m pretty sure

It is homemade.
It DOES rub a dent in it over time.

Re: Hi Everyone
One of the previous owners installed that. I looked at the diagrams on kawasakipartshouse because I hadn't seen one before either, definitely an afterthought.

Re: Hi Everyone
Though I have not done it myself, I once thought a VERY thick, tough piece of tape might work, then replace it often.

Re: Hi Everyone
I had a piece of fuel line tie wired to the cable on my 87, that worked very well and never needed replacement.
