1986 Kx 125

Post by hbgod »

So went to this pet store the other day to look at lizards for my sister and this diamond in the rough was for sale on someones lawn. called the guy up and he was only asking $450 so it needs some stuff.
Needs rear tire, killswitch, case saver, kick lever, grips, clutch lever, and front pads. I ended up paying $400 and going riding tomorrow hopefully, need to get pads in the morning since the ones they gave me at the local motorsports store were wrong. i sourced a clutch lever off my KDX for now since they are the same, and my buddy is gonna pop start me so we can go riding :)
Ordered a kick lever and case saver on ebay for $30 each :) and bought grips to put on after i sandblast and paint the rusty handlebars.

So went riding today and OMFG other then the little issues i need to work out this bike is an absolute monster. the suspension is rather good considering the leaky fork seals, i was jumping this thing all day :). no front brakes almost cost me and another kid a trip to the hospital tho, sliding sideways towards another bike at 60-70mph is VERY scary.

Good pick! A friend of mine had one of those and he loved it.

Some bikes from the mid 80's and 90's were better than most younger people know. They haven't reinvented bikes since, just refined them.

A new KX 65 or KLR 650 will still have the same style forks you got.
This is my rifle, this is my gun, the YZ to go fast, the KDX is for fun!

There is a Race Tuning Guide on ebay for it. Look for 1986. Someone had it for around $8 shipped.
