New to me 1981 KDX 175

Post by fasteddykdx1751981 »

Just brought home this 81, it's in pretty good shape, plastic has discoloured in spots, engine has been recently been redone, Suspension is tight, no leaks on the forks, lights work, seat is like new ( maybe it is) will need a new chain and sprockets, runs nice. I plan to ride it in selected Vintage Enduros ( trying to re-live my youth :? )

Some Observations, The tank although it looks good has many non leaking very fine cracks, anyone have this issue? I just silicon-ed up the exhaust to pipe flange as the gasket is flattened out and it was leaking, there is only one o-ring here, are there any other solutions. I found a shop manual on e-bay so I will have specs soon and will give it a good going over. Any suggestions on making this a good runner would be appreciated.

Welcome. Cool find!

One copper crush gasket and one o-ring looks correct.
