Clutch Cover
So I'm rebuilding my engine right now and I'm getting ready to button up the clutch side of the engine. I noticed the previous owner crammed some sort of brass sleeve in to the hole in the top of the clutch cover where the clutch actuator rod? PN 13236-1259 goes into where the seal should be. Its obviously not suppose to be there since it extends through the seal rendering the seal useless. What is the clutch rod suppose to ride on there? Is there a bushing or does it just ride on the aluminum of the case? Also if any one has a decent clutch cover I would be interested in purchasing it.

Re: Clutch Cover
Yes I had already looked at that diagram. So just the seal is at the top? no bushing or bearing?

Re: Clutch Cover
There is a bearing under the seal #92046A
If you lend someone $20, and never see that person again, it was probably worth it.

Re: Clutch Cover
Isn’t that the bearing that goes on the bottom of the shaft not the top of it?

Re: Clutch Cover
92046A is a needle bearing.
From how the drawings usually go, I assume it to be in the top of the cover.

Re: Clutch Cover
OF COURSE, 10 seconds after posting that, I thought to look on eBay and see if someone had pictures of a cover. There are lots of them. Search for "KDX clutch cover". I was wrong.
The bearing is down in the middle of the cover, with apparently only the seal up top.
All pictures are from eBay sellers, not me.

Re: Clutch Cover
Yes, bearing at the bottom, seal at the top. That bearing is a super PITA to remove BTW. The opening at the top is a friction fit with the actuating rod. Depending on what damage was done by the bushing you may be better off finding a replacement cover.

Re: Clutch Cover
Yeah I'm hoping its not too over sized where my new seal won't fit correctly or the rod just flops around, if so I suppose I'll be shopping for a new used cover. Thanks for help everyone!

Re: Clutch Cover
MSRP $5.47 currently for the seal
I sometimes am amazed at some previous owners.
I hope it works out.
