Back on the horse...

Post by Wazowski »

I guess i was wrong...there IS a forum about riding style!

::looks around:::

The paint looks pretty fresh and the floors are clean...

Hey...I don't think anyone's been in here before! :shock:

I guess I have Indawoods to thank for the new digs... :supz:

So anyway, you know I took a good spill a few weeks ago...I still don't know why but I intend to find out, and I am feeling fine now...I'm ready to get back on the horse, but I learned a new trick from my son of all people.

Yes son you're very smart..now shut up...

After the crash and during our very long ride back to the truck I began to experience cramps..everywhere. Both arms, my back, my groin and legs...anyway one of the things that helped me keep going was my son suggesting that I grip with my legs. Now he told me this way earlier in the day and whenever my arms got tired I would just relax them (when you can..sometimes you just gotta hold on!) and grip the bike with my legs.

I've ridden horses for years and you use the same technique when running a horse.

Anyway, it was a great suggestion and it saved me a lot of pain then and later in the day. It's a great way to "rest" your upper body while on an endurance run.

Now if I could just figure out how to keep my a$$ from going numb...:lol:
