1996 cr250 hybrid
1996 KDX200, 1996 cr250 chassis. Will post better pics tomorrow(Taken with phone, sorry!) and a little more info.

Got a little more done today. Camera was dead so here is another okay pic of it. About 95% done, but the rest is down hill from here. As for details, I picked this 96 cr250 up a few months back with the intention of rebuilding the cr250 motor. It never happened, so I just decided to toss the KDX motor in. Had to drill the cases out to 17mm, but that was it swing arm wise. Everything lined up! All mounts had to be redone obviously, used the pro circuit platinum pipe that came with the cr, but just welded the KDX tip on to fix the exhaust port. The only issue I've been running into the is with airbox/airboot. I made an adapter to run the KDX airboot, but it rubs the shock. The next best thing would be to run the CR airboot and make an make a spacer for the KDX carb. I would of course just buy a KX125 intake and run the 38mm PJ carb off the cr, but this is being set up for my little brother and it will be his first bike.

I did a '99 CR250 hybrid and had the same issue with the shock spring rubbing the KDX boot. I used the entire KDX airbox, it fit just fine.
After three years of running, that shock spring rubbing the boot did no harm.
That was a great bike.

I bet the steel '96 frame worked even better than the '99 aluminum frame I had. I never really got the suspension good for any amount of time. It was very sensitive. I'd do a little tweaking and get it working beutifully, running on rails with great plush and compliance, a couple weeks later it it would be a twitchy mess because the moon was in a different phase or something. I probably spent $2000 on that suspension.
I sold it to this joker up the street. He ragged it out and then had it "stolen" and tried to get his homeowners insurance to pay for it. Of course it was not covered

Just and update, sweet jesus was this an update over the stock chassis. Flat out hauls, and is only limited by suspension which is about to be fixed. Decided that I am going to work the motor a little and see what I can get out of it, would love to be in the 35-40hp range(porting, head mod, 38mm carb etc). Pretty happy with it. Going to have to find a skid plate to fit it though, note the trick water pump guard haha. The stock KDX tail light was mounted as a joke, and will be replaced with an LED unit along with an Oregon street legal plate, I did mention this thing was street legal right?

My guess is 220 or so with fuel.
